The Mountains Tremble

Guatemala has been crying out to the Creator this last week. Last thursday night the active volcano Pacaya errupted, killing 5 and leaving nearly two thousand evacuated from their homes. The volcanic sand fell all over the country and especially on Guatemala City. On Friday the rains came pouring down....and continued to pour. Tropical Storm Agatha hit Guatemala quite hard. Because of all of the volcanic sand covering the ground and clogging drainage systems, flooding has damaged thousands of homes. And to our surprise some huge sink holes collapsed underneath people. Here is a little peek...

Thankfully, Antigua where I live was spared from much of the damage, as well as the Oasis. I am OK! All at the Oasis are OK! We are among the fortunate ones who only suffered a few days without water and power.
There are many people in Guatemala devastated by these events. Nearly all schools have been suspended as the clean up and restoration begins. Please pray for Guatemala and those affected. There is a lot of need!
